Description

THIN CONTROLLED PORSITY ALUMINA CERAMIC SHEET SUBSTRATE COVER LID SETTER
No.: 513
You are buying on a ONE (1) only Thin Square Controlled Porosity Alumina Ceramic Sheet Membrane Substrate Cover Lid Setter. It is in excellent being NOS (New Old Stock). They are made from 99.7% purity Aluminum Oxide (Al
2
O
3
) which of course is Alumina. Generally the balance of composition for this purity Alumina material is of Silicon Dioxide (SiO
2
) which is Silica. This material has very high stiffness, very good corrosion resistance to chemicals at high temperature, and very high refractoriness or use temperature. AMPS- 42520 is a porous, fired alumina ceramic plate used to cover green ceramic parts during firing. The weight of the porous plate enhances the flatness of fired parts while retaining gas permeability during organic removal, thus allowing single firing. The plate may also be used as a setter to promote more uniform burnout of binders during firing.
Uses include Fuel Cell applications such as SOFC electrolyte substrates, and other processing of ceramic tape. ESL cover plates are available in several standard sizes as shown below, and in customer-specific configurations. They may be used for a variety of electrical, mechanical, and thermal applications. They are great for firing sample in a high temperature kiln. The may be slumped at 3100 F (1700 C).They are sufficiently thin to use as diffusers of light. They are great for diffusion experiments or sculptural works of art. Your imagination is the only limiting factor in the spectrum of possible applications for this component. Be sure to view all photos as they are an integral component of the item description.
