Heavy True Bronze Irish / English / Gordon Setter Bust on Trapezoid Shaped Quartz Base, Extremely heavy, between 15 and 20 lbs.

    Description

    Magnificent Bronze Bust of an Irish / English / Gordon Setter, most likely time period is from 1940 - 1958 when the artist passed away.
    Rudolf Chocholka has been alternately labeled German as well as Austrian, and it is said most of his work was cast in Vienna. I have no definitive information on that, reports vary. European casting of this beautiful Bust.
    This fantastic and beautiful bust is far better in person than my pictures can show.
    These are rarely found, in 30 years in the business, I have never previously seen work by this artist. Most of his work was not dogs, but was birds, animals and horses.
    Marked: R. CHOCHOLKA. Guaranteed Original, heavy real Bronze, weight is too heavy for my postal scale, approximately 15-20 lbs!
    10" High from the bottom of the base to the highest point of the skull, 5.5" at the widest point, from edge of ear to edge of ear, length from tip of nose to end of base is 12".

    There are losses to the patina as shown, and chips to some of the corners of the three dimensional trapezoid shaped base, which results in somewhat of a rounding of some of those edges!
