    Description

These are a wonderful Way to Complete your Mexican out fit.  These very
    finely woven
belts can also be used and hat bands or hair ribbons as well as thin belts.
I have loved the Weaving from this community in Oaxaca From the 1st time I visited
Santo Tomas Jalieza!  The women from this community have been hand weaving this type of belts on a back strap looms for centuries
(see photo).  These belts have been transported and traded with the Mayan Women of Guatemala since historic times.
They all measure 1 1/4 of an inch wide and approximately 67 inches long, not including the little doll
    tassels
    at each end.
The weaving from this community is very reasonably priced, and the images that they incorporate into their weavings are often traditional but can also be playful to.
Some of the belts that I offer here have the famous Plumed Dancers as well as rabbits, birds, scorpions and other animals.
When you purchase pieces that are made in Mexico you are helping to support these women and help save their cultural traditions and history..
