    Description

These are a wonderful Way to Complete your Mexican out fit.   I have loved the Weaving from this community in Oaxaca From the 1st time I visited
    Santo Tomas Jalieza!
The women from this community have been hand weaving this type of belts on a
back strap looms for centuries (see photo)
    .
These belts have been transported and traded with the Mayan Women of Guatemala from historic times.
    The measurements are below.
1.) Pink, Red, Navy & White
:  2 1/8 inches wide & 59 inches long (not including the Fringe).
2.) White & Coco Brown:  2 1/8 inches wide & 60 inches long (not including the Fringe).
    3.) Baby Blue, Navy & White:  2
inches wide & 60 inches long (not including the Fringe).
4.) White & Maroon:  2 inches wide & 60 inches long (not including the Fringe).
    5.) Maroon
& White:  1 3/4 inches wide & 61 inches long (not including the Fringe).
    6.) White, Lime, Raspberry
& Gold:  2 inches wide & 66 inches long (not including the Fringe).
    7.) Red, Orange
& White:  2 1/8 inches wide & 60 inches long (not including the Fringe).
These belts come from the same community as the belts that Pippa Holt sells to accompany her Kaftans for 5+ times my price....
The weaving from this community is very reasonably priced, and the images that they incorporate into their weavings are often very traditional but can also be playful to.
Some of the belts that I offer here have images of the famous Plumed Dancers as well as rabbits, birds, scorpions and other animals woven into them.
When you purchase pieces that are made
in Mexico you are helping to support these women and help save their cultural traditions and history..
