Description
I have here an Extremely Rare, Unique, One of a Kind Silicon Wafer that comes from Western Electric / Bell Labs from the Early 1970's. This Silicon Wafer was Acquired directly from the Son of a Western Electric / Bell Labs Engineer, being sold for his father. This Silicon Wafer and a number of other items were personal Belongings of this Engineer and he was very reluctant to part with them, however, I was told that the Engineer's health was in decline and His desire to keep the items were dwindling. I was EXTREMELY FORTUNATE to have been able to acquire such a Treasure, as I'm not sure how many other items of this Engineer's were actually sold. I really hope this Engineer is still with us, as this item was acquired about 6 years ago now. This wafer comes with an incredible history and story.Comments from the Son:
"
My father, who worked as an IC designer for
Bell
/WEco, gave them to me years ago. I have the wafer but not the photo, nor any further any details other than it was one he designed while at the Union Boulevard works.
I do not have any more wafers. If my dad is willing to give me more, then I will list them, but right now, they hold enough sentimental value to him to not give them up."
So this wafer was acquired directly from a Bell Labs/Western Electric IC Designer/Engineer. The Son said he didn't know what it was, as he had received the wafer a little over 30 years ago at this point.

You can see how absolutely incredible this Wafer looks. It is completely golden, all of the traces, everything!. So beautiful. Pretty much the entire wafer is gold, except for a few spots.
I still am looking to get a few Scope shots, but the photos here are a nice little teaser.
This is an Incredible Silicon Wafer, and anyone who is a serious collector should want a Western Electric / Bell Labs Wafer like this in their collection, especially with it's uniqueness and history! Not only is this wafer absolutely incredible, Golden, and a Unique one of a Kind Silicon Wafer... IT also comes directly from the IC Engineer who designed and created it, how much better can you get? How many wafers out there are purchased directly from the Engineer or their Family? This is definitely one of the stars of my collection, up there with the Xerox Confidential Wafer here https://www.ebay.com/itm/265955486288
This Wafer comes with it's own personal 2" Flouroware care, and unlike the other listings with Flouroware cases included, this one actually came with the silicon wafer when I acquired it, meaning it has been protecting this Silicon Wafer for about 50 years years, and the case itself is also tied to Western Electric / Bell Labs as well. You can tell that this Wafer has been sealed in this Flouroware case for all these years, and that the case` did it's job, since this Silicon Wafer is in Incredibly` Pristine Condition. I only took it out of it's case for the pictures, or else it stays completely sealed away from the world.
I also am willing to include a 2" Spring from my other flouroware cases pile, since this one did NOT include one on it's own. The Buyer will have to let me know when the time comes!

Thank you for your time with viewing my listing, I appreciate it. I hope you have a great day!
NOTE: Handling time is set to 10 days because I normally end up having buyers who want more than 1 item, so a few days can go by before the full transaction is completed; however, the handling time set for each item has to be obeyed or else penalties happen to me, so I set the handling time to a time that shouldn't cause problems. I have been recently notified(10/24/22) that some buyers are concerned about the long handling times so I want to make everyone completely aware of the situation.
After THE FULL Transaction is complete(the buyer is done choosing listings to purchase, and ready for shipment), I normally try to ship the day of completion or the next day(depending if transaction completion happens early enough in the day and on a weekday), but 2-3 regular days(not business days) would be the maximum handling time. I do not want buyers to have to wait for their product after purchase, I just want to make sure buyers have selected everything they want to purchase, before I ship, as most of my buyers thus far have wanted more than 1 item, while at the same time make sure I do not get penalized, because even if a buyer is okay with waiting, I have to obey the times set by the site. Thank you for your understanding, and thank you for your time with viewing my listing, I really appreciate it. If you have any questions at all about this issue, or anything else I can answer for you / help-you-with, please do not hesitate to ask. I am here to make the Buyer's experience completely satisfactory, so let me know if there is anything I can do for you! I hope you have a fantastic day!
